The trays often have a coating of PE or PLA, making them food-safe and grease-free. In addition, the trays are moisture resistant and taste and odor neutral.

Sugarcane chips trays

A large part of our chips trays is also made from sugarcane. Sugarcane (pulp) is a natural waste product and is therefore also called bagasse, derived from the Spanish word for waste. Sugarcane products are made from the pulp that remains after the juice has been separated from the cane. Using heat and pressure, the pulp is compressed and shaped into the trays you see on our virtual shelves. The sugarcane chips trays are sturdy and not associated to tree felling.
