All over the world, we are facing sustainable challenges such as climate change, energy, health, and poverty. These challenges are referred to as the Sustainable Development Goals. It is important that students and pupils also want to tackle sustainable challenges, and therefore the Day of Sustainability provides an annual impulse on October 10, 2022.
What is the Day of Sustainability?
In today's society, sustainability is the new norm, but it needs to be normalized among even more target groups. It should be normal for acting towards sustainability to really matter. On the Day of Sustainability, actions are organized, especially by educational institutions, to show how large the sustainability movement already is. Inspire others and create more attention for the growing sustainability movement.
Goals In 2015, the Sustainable Development Summit was held where the new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were discussed, which must be achieved by 2030. The goals are a call to action to promote prosperity in poor and rich countries, but also to protect the planet against climate change. The SDGs stand for ending poverty through the development of economic growth and addressing some social needs. These needs include education, health, social protection, and employment.
